Beautifully decorated by Jules Grün, French painter, illustrator and poster artist (1868-1938). Himself author of coins, he works in particular for the Imprimerie Chaix directed by his friend Jules Chéret. His style is distinguished by black and white as well as red. He is the author of numerous posters for parties, music halls (Moulin Rouge, Café Riche...) and café-concerts.

Located on boulevard de Rochechouart in the Pigalle district of Paris, La Cigale is a café-concert built in 1887 on the site of the Bal de la Boule Noire (built in 1822).

Today it is a well known concert hall.
