The Société du Cercle Bourbonnais of Moulins is a private club of the Bourbonnais bourgeoisie and aristocracy, founded by notarial deed of 29 March 1873 before Maître Fustier, Notary in Moulins (Allier), for a period of one hundred years from 1 January 1873. The registered office was located on the Cours Doujat and Rue de la Comédie in Moulins, in the historic heart of the capital of the Bourbonnais region. This registered share N°78 of 500 francs was delivered to Charles Gabriel Guy, Viscount de Bourbon Chalus, landowner residing in Moulins, on 1 April 1873. The name of this aristocratic shareholder, bearing the title of Viscount with the particled name de Bourbon Chalus — alluding to the Bourbon family and their historic fief — is particularly evocative in a club named "Bourbonnais." The many "Interest Paid" stamps covering the 1873–1920 period testify to the company's longevity and regular management.
