Isidore de Lara (1858–1935), born Isaac Cohen in London, was one of the most celebrated and frequently performed opera composers in Europe at the turn of the 20th century. His operas  : notably "L'Oracolo," "Messaline," "Naïl" and "Amy Robsart" were performed at the world's greatest stages, from the Monte Carlo Opera to Covent Garden and the Paris Opéra. A man of the world with an international reputation, he resided in Paris at 49 Rue Copernic, in the 16th arrondissement. This life pension document, issued on 15 September 1930 by the SACD Pension Fund for a deliberation of 4 July 1930, grants him an annual life pension of 5,500 francs (N°464), with effect from 30 June 1930. The SACD, founded in 1777 one of the world's oldest copyright management societies awarded pensions to its most distinguished members. A document linked to an internationally renowned artistic celebrity of the Belle Époque, of great value for collectors of cultural and musical scripophily.
