The purpose of the company was to acquire and operate quarries for the extraction and manufacture of lime and cement and building stone quarries, located in the municipalities of Couzon and Albigny-sur-Saône (Rhône) , the manufacture of all products using lime and cement and the sale and trade of all products both in France and abroad.

Albert Oustric, a Parisian banker, had taken an interest in the company by buying shares. Following the financial crisis, and accused of fraud, he led the company to bankruptcy in 1930.
