The Rostoff on Don Tramways were inaugurated in 1886. The concession was brought to the Belgian Edouard Otlet (1842-1907) by the Rodolphe Coumont. Jospeh Faïn was the director of the company.

They are among the many trams built by Belgians in Russia.
