The Odessa Tramways were inaugurated in 1880. The concession was brought to the Belgian Edouard Otlet (1842-1907) by the Frenchman Clément Bonnet, allowing him to replace a failing Austro-Russian group.
They are among the many trams built by Belgians in Russia.
