The Belgian company Le Métallurgique bought the concession of the Kazan Tramways in service since 1875, from Ivan Likhatcheff, the business escaping the Belgian Edouard Otlet who participated in the launch of the trams of Odessa, Tiflis, Kharkoff, Rostoff on the Don, and Moscow.
The tramways of Kazan are among the many trams built by Belgians in Russia.
