Also called the Summer Circus, the Cirque was a former Parisian equestrian theatre built in 1841. The owner sold the place to a company to build a new theater: Cirque-Palace des Champs Elysées.

The company goes bankrupt and the place is destroyed and replaced later by the Théâtre Marigny.
