It succeeds the manufacture of Bordeaux of English origin David Jonhston (who will become mayor of Bordeaux!)

In 1845. It is managed by Jules Vieillard until his death in 1868: his sons Albert and Charles, who share the management with their father since 1865, take over until its closure in 1895. The company will then be taken over by a consortium.
