The Société des Biscuits Coste, founded in Marseille at the beginning of the 20th century, was one of the biscuit makers of southern France recognized for its specialties. Established at 23 boulevard Barry in Saint-Just (Marseille), it had a share capital of 61,250,000 francs divided into 61,250 fully paid-up shares of 1,000 francs each, articles of association filed with Maître Deydier, notary in Marseille.

This Certificate for Ten Bearer Shares of 1,000 Francs, grouping numbers 058 621 to 058 630, dated 20 October 1950 in Marseille, is printed by Imprimerie Robaudy in Cannes. Two original directors' signatures on the back, red "BSC" (Biscuits Coste) dry stamp at the center. The sober design, framed with a typographic chevron pattern, is enhanced by the "Biscuits Coste" watermark in large central letters. A clean, very legible piece, with fold marks. A fine testimony of the postwar Marseille food industry, for enthusiasts of regional and food-industry scripophily.
