Papeterie Mécanique d'Echarcon
Nominal share of 2,500F - Paris 1835.
Very rare
Registered share of 2500 francs issued in Paris in 1835.
Located a few kilometers from the Papeterie d'Essonne.
Founded in 1824, this mechanical paper mill did not begin production until 1831 and specialized in printing papers for publishers and in newsprint.
Driven by steam and hydraulic power, the company was decorated several times at the Industrial Paper Exhibitions. The company supports publishers by joining the Literary Pantheon of Emile de Girardin in 1836, which was later taken over by the printer Desrez.
The difficulties of the latter lead the paper mill to heavy financial losses. When it closed, it was transformed into a private dwelling.
Very rare document signed by Oberkampf (Émile, Baron Oberkampf, son of Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, he succeeded his father in the management of the Jouy fabric factory and owned the Essonne spinning mill).
