The S.A. du Panorama de Lourdes was a company created at the end of the 19th century for the purpose of operating an immersive tourist attraction in Lourdes, a major pilgrimage site and leading destination for religious tourism. Its main activity was the presentation of panoramas, large circular painted works offering a spectacular recreation of religious or historical scenes, very popular at the time before the rise of cinema. As part of the tourist development of Lourdes, the company benefited from the influx of visitors from around the world, while adapting to changes in leisure activities and entertainment trends in the early 20th century. Like many companies linked to this type of attraction, it gradually disappeared as panoramas declined in favor of new forms of entertainment.
