Charles-Jules Périnaud, trader in French West Africa, took over from Ets Pozzo di Borgo in Abidjan in 1926.

It had branches in Ivory Coast and Dahomey: Bassam, Bouaké, Dabou, Tiassalé, Cosrou, Toupa, Grand-Lahou Sassandra, Agboville Abengourou, Agnibilékr.

On his death in 1934, S.A. des Ets Charles Périnaud is created. The company exports cocoa, coffee, palm kernels, palm oil, shelled peanuts, ivory, rubber, cotton, kapok, shea, glue, leathers, beeswax, honey, etc. and imports manufactured goods or products: construction materials, industrial supplies, cotton fabrics, silks, fashion items, canned goods, "Simca" cars, "Eternit" fiber cement, etc.
