Magnificent registered cash certificate of 50 rupees issued by the Princely State of Hyderabad under the reign of the Nizam, most likely Mir Osman Ali Khan, the seventh and last independent ruler. Document from the FASLI era 1353 (≈1942 AD), entirely written in elegant Urdu calligraphy on a finely guilloché pale-blue background. The number No. 008428 appears in the upper right cartouche, accompanied by "50" indications repeated in the corners. The certificate bears two round seals (one with an Islamic crescent and star), several signatures and colored handwritten inscriptions (blue, red, green ink). On the back: a table for recording annual interest and signature areas. These certificates functioned as interest-bearing registered deposits — financial instruments specific to the wealthiest principality of British India, whose fate was sealed by its annexation to the Indian Union in 1948. A very rare document in Europe, fragile (tears on the edges), but the central iconography reads perfectly clearly. A prestige piece for orientalist scripophiles, historians of British India, or enthusiasts of Persian calligraphy.
