A singular piece of Austro-Hungarian scripophily: "Részvényhányad" (share fraction) issued by "Le Charbon" — Banya és Szénbánya Részvény-Társaság (Coal Mining Company "Le Charbon"), a public limited company established in Budapest on 27 June 1903. Dated Budapest, December 1905, this share fraction no. 06931 bears witness to the mining boom of the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy, where coal and lignite were intensively exploited in Slovakia, Transylvania and the Pannonian plain. Document entirely written in Hungarian (Magyar), with additional mentions at the bottom of the page reading "Le Charbon, Société Anonyme des Mines et Charbonnages" — the French name suggests Franco-Hungarian shareholding or management. Remarkable black and pink Art Nouveau design: stylized floral border, mining extraction frieze, central cartouche. Coupons attached on the right repeating "Részvényhányad" and the number 06931. Two handwritten signatures of directors. A historically valuable piece as it was issued in a context of the height and then crisis of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1903: coal miners' strike; 1918: collapse of the Empire). Rare in France.
