Bearer bond of 500 francs issued in Paris in 1862.
The managing director of the company was Mr. E. Buon, whose signature appears on the right on the title, and the director Mr. Ch. Viboux whose signature appears on the left.
Extract from the statutes on the back: The purpose of the company founded in 1802 was to open a credit facility of 7,500,000 francs for the benefit of the Civil Society of the Palace of the Universal and Permanent Exhibition.
The first Universal Exhibition took place in 1851 at the Crystal Palace in London. Several exhibitions follow in Paris from 1855. On the title we see a magnificent frieze decorated by Catenacci and E. Morice, with a representation of the Palace of Industry and Fine Arts built on the avenue des Champs-Elysées on the Carré Marigny for the Universal Exhibition of 1855 (architect Viel and engineer Barrault).
The building, considered too small, will then be destroyed in 1896 and replaced by the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, built a few years later in barely three years for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, thus rivaling the Eiffel Tower built a ten years earlier.
