Very beautiful share of the Société des Grands Cinémas Parisiens, a public limited company with a capital of 500,000 francs divided into 5,000 fully paid-up shares of 100 francs. Fully paid-up bearer preferred share, 6% cumulative, of one hundred francs. Number 01481, dated 12 April 1912. Articles of association filed with Maître Moyne, notary in Paris.

This company operated several screening venues in Paris during the heroic era of silent cinema, just before the Great War. The "premium theatre" segment of Parisian cinema was beginning to take shape (leading players: Pathé, Gaumont, but also independents). The piece is clearly marked "FISCAL YEAR 1913" with a round blue stamp, and retains a large "Forty Francs" block in purple overprint indicating a capital reimbursement/reduction.

The certificate has a red border with rules and arabesques, with the company's seal at the center. Two handwritten signatures. Important asset: the sheet of numbered preferred coupons (eighth, ninth, tenth, up to the twentieth coupon visible) remains attached — remarkable condition.

Apparent condition: good to very good, slight oxidation spots and a brown ring at the bottom right, overall very legible. A Belle Époque silent-cinema themed piece, of strong collecting interest.
