This cinema opens its doors in 1931. It was then a charming room in the shape of an Italian theatre, with 323 seats. In 1954, the Studio de l'Etoile welcomed in residence the ''Cinéma d'Essai'', an association created in January 1950 at the ''Les Reflets'' cinema on the avenue des Ternes.

This association will give birth in the following years to the Art and Essay rooms. Still specializing in arthouse films, the cinema changed its name and destiny by becoming the "Club de l'Etoile" in the mid-1980s.

It is then a ''private'' cinema, which still offers a few public screenings until November 25, 1988, then definitely specializes in press screenings and previews.
