Company incorporated in 1907, with counters throughout West Africa in Senegal, Guinea, Sudan, Upper Volta, Sierra-Leone, Côte d'Or (Ghana), Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Dahomey and Nigeria.

The SCOA sells in its counters of Africa all the objects of European manufacture consumed by the population or by the colonists. It imports into Europe agricultural products and raw materials from African soil (peanuts, oil, cocoa, rubber, cotton, etc.).

Its main competitor is the Compagnie Française de l'Afrique Occidentale (now CFAO).

The company was dissolved in 1998.

The company was affected by the Bac d'Eloka shutdown, following an accident off the coast of the Ivory Coast in 1921.

This authentic document is presenting a richly decorated frieze: fruits, horns, vignettes of establishments.
