Société d'Hardelot 1905
Bearer share 500 F Société d'Hardelot 1905, Opal Coast seaside resort. Sheet of 20 attached coupons. Seaside-resort scripophily.
Beautiful share of the Société d'Hardelot, a public limited company with a capital of 1,400,000 francs, head office in Hardelot, commune of Condette (Pas-de-Calais). Established by deed received by Maître Mahile de Pougnoville, notary in Lille, on 28 September 1905. Fully paid-up bearer share of five hundred francs, number 813.
Hardelot-Plage, a seaside resort on the Opal Coast created at the end of the 19th century by Sir John Whitley to develop an "English Le Touquet", is associated with elite seaside tourism, golf, horse riding, and picturesque Anglo-Norman villas. Hardelot's real estate market was the subject of several successive development companies.
The certificate has a sober layout with a black neoclassical border and a large circular stamp. Major asset: the complete sheet of 20 numbered coupons (from the 1st to the 20th) remains attached, in remarkable condition. Two directors' signatures.
Apparent condition: very good to superb, clean paper, sharp inks, a consistent and complete set. An ideal piece for collectors of seaside resorts, the Opal Coast, and leisure real estate scripophily. The rarity of the issuer (1,400,000 F = a very small company) enhances its interest.
