The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, located at 15 avenue Montaigne in Paris, is one of the temples of classical music and dance in France. Inaugurated on 2 April 1913, designed by architect Auguste Perret in the nascent Art Deco style, with décors by Maurice Denis, Edouard Vuillard and Antoine Bourdelle, it is a listed historical monument. Its inaugural season was marked by the scandalous and historic premiere of Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," choreographed by Nijinsky and conducted by Pierre Monteux. The Société Immobilière du Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, founded in 1907, issued shares to finance the construction and operation of the theatre. This Ordinary Share of 200F, bearing the CANCELLED notation, was issued in July 1922. It is adorned with three magnificent vignettes depicting the interior of the theatre: the main auditorium, a corridor and a staircase. The motto "Du cœur de l'homme, de toutes les voix de la nature jaillit la divine symphonie" (From man's heart, from all the voices of nature springs the divine symphony) expresses the venue's universal artistic ambition.
