The newspaper "L'Eclair" was an independent political daily newspaper founded in 1891 by Maurice Dechêneau, and which appeared until 1926. The newspaper was taken over by Ernest Judet in 1904. The latter was accused of treason after the war and the newspaper was taken over by "L'Avenir".

Only 4000 shares were issued in the capital of the company.
