Original Signature of ''Count De Lambert'', French pilot (small issue: 1200)

Following his passion for mechanical inventions, the Count of Lambert continues the work undertaken with his friend Paul Tissandier around the first hydrofoils.

In October 1913, the hydrofoil piloted by Tissandier beats the speed record of a craft on the water.

After the First World War, Charles de Lambert thinks that the time has come to commercialize his hydrofoils. He created the Société Anonyme des Hydroglisseurs, based in Nanterre, in 1920.

He tries to sell his gear to the public authorities, especially in the colonies. Equipped with cabins and powerful engines (200 HP), these machines seem well suited to transport goods and troops on the vast rivers of Indochina (the Mekong) or West Africa (the Niger River).

The share of Hydroglisseurs de Lambert shows a tropical river and oriental dragons, suggesting Indochina, where the Mekong delta, for example, is ideal for such craft.
