Maritime company founded by Marc Constantin Fraissinet in 1836 under the name of Compagnie Fraissinet. It changed its name in 1853 to become the Compagnie Marseillaise de Navigation à Vapeur.
The company's first ships were called Le Marseillais, le Rhône and l'Hérault and sailed to Corsica, Gibraltar, Spain and Portugal.
In 1964, Compagnie Fraissinet was taken over by Compagnie Maritime des Chargeurs Réunis.
