Bearer share of 100 francs issued in Paris in 1924. Title illustrated with a cloverleaf. The brand of parts for automobiles and Automoto cycles and registered in 1898 by Gros, Goudefer and Pichard, who had previously created the Ateliers du Forez. The Société anonyme de Construction Mécanique de la Loire Automoto, founded in 1900, was liquidated in 1907.

Abandoning the automotive sector, it took the name of Société Anonyme Nouvelle de Construction de la Loire Automoto. Automoto then became one of the biggest French brands of bicycles involved in major races alongside other prestigious brands of the time: Peugeot, Hurtu, Alcyon, Clément, La Française…

In 1959, a Peugeot subsidiary bought the three-leaf clover brand.
