The Caisse d'Escompte de Morez-du-Jura, a partnership limited by shares under the name "A. Lhomme & Cie", was a local bank of the Haut-Jura specializing in commercial discounting to support the local eyewear and watchmaking industries — the town of Morez then being a major French center of eyewear production. This company represents a rare testimony of the regional banks of the Second Empire.

This registered Share of Five Hundred Francs, belonging to Monsieur Auguste Lhomme (the founder himself), bears number 89 and is dated 1 January 1859 in Morez-du-Jura. The document has a finely decorated light grey border, two side stubs for coupons and fiscal stamps, original signatures of the Managing Director and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Blue stamp of the Bank, red "Fédération St Claude" stamp and a handwritten note (share transferred). A very rare document from the mid-19th century still in fine condition, sought after by specialists in Jura and Second Empire banking scripophily.
