The Rossignol company, a French company manufacturing winter sports equipment, was founded in 1907 in Voiron in Isère by Abel Rossignol.Abel filed a ski patent in 1941.

In 1956, Laurent Boix-Vives took over the reins of the company and gave it an international dimension.

The company will be bought by Quicksilver and then by an Australian consortium.

Since 2013, it has been owned by the Swedish group Altor Equity Partners.
