Agnès-Drecoll, Anciennes Maisons Agnès, Drecoll et Beer réunies
Share of 100F - Paris 1931
Bearer share of 100 francs issued in 1931 in Paris.
Signed by Georges Aubert (1869-1933), French industrialist and financier. During the 1920s, Aubert invested a large part of his fortune in Parisian haute couture. In 1924, he took over the administrative and financial management of the Germaine Patat house, then of Paul Poiret (which he closed in 1929), Maison Agnès, Georges Dœuillet and Doucet and of Drecoll & Beer. He was also the owner of the Paul Boulanger Distillery in Pantin.
A former employee of Maison Doucet, Mrs. Havet founded Maison Agnès in 1898 and became famous for her turbans and hats. Maison Agnès joined forces with Viennese fashion designer Christopher Drecoll in 1931 to become Agnès-Drecoll, opening a boutique at 24 place Vendôme. Christopher Drecoll had already merged with Maison Beer in 1922 to form the Drecoll-Beer house. The company will definitively cease its activities in 1963.
Albert Oustric (Banque Oustric, Snia Viscosa, Chaussures Fayard, etc.) was also a director of the company.
