Aux Classes Laborieuses, Limited is an English company created in 1897.
The company buys a building in Paris, boulevard de Strasbourg (Passage du Désir).
In 1899 the company built a modern building at 85-87 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin.
The facade designed by the architect Jacques Hermant is awarded by the city of Paris in 1900.
Aux Classes Laborieuses becomes a real department store, where you can buy linens, fabrics, clothes for women, men and children, furniture, household items, etc.
The particularity of the shop lies in the low selling prices that attract the lower classes.
