The Darracq company, founded by Alexandre Darracq in Suresnes in 1896, had branches in the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.

This is the launch of the Opel cars, ancestor of the Alfa Romeo (then Talbot). The English firm Rover enters its capital. Darracq will work with Dion-Bouton engines and will also manufacture aircraft engines.
