The first private bank in Mexico, the Bank of London and Mexico was founded in 1864. A branch of the English bank The London Bank of Mexico and South America Ltd, it became one of the most powerful banks in Mexico, with an extensive network of branches across the country.

The bank issued the first Mexican banknotes beginning in 1865.

Following the American stock market crisis of 1907, several banks went bankrupt, but thanks to state aid, the bank was saved from liquidation.

Very rare share, signed on the right by Henri Tron, member of the Board of Directors. Together with Léon Signoret, they held 46% of the bank's capital.

This title is nicknamed by collectors "Queen Victoria".
