Provisory Certificate of 10 Shares of 250 francs each issued in Paris in 1852.

The headquarters of this company, founded in 1852 by bankers, was located in Paris, 27 rue Laffitte.

The banker Emile Péreire bought the docks in La Villette and in 1860 created the Compagnie des Entrepôts et Magasins Généraux de Paris. The project was then ambitious: to make Paris an economic capital and a trade hub between Europe and America. Producers could safely store their perishable foodstuffs and industrial products.

Emile Péreire brought in the railroad, dig basins and canals and even build in St Nazaire seven steamers of 2000 tons which regularly linked from 1862, Le Havre to New York to supply the warehouses.
