Cinéac, contraction of Cinema and  "Actualité" (news),  was the commercial name for movie theaters, launched by Reginald Ford. The first Cineac was opened in 1931.

In 1940, there were 23 Cineac including 12 in France, 5 in Belgium, 5 in the Netherlands and 1 in Greece (Athens).
