De Dion-Bouton is one of the pioneer French automobile brands, founded by the Marquis de Dion and Georges Bouton in 1883. Its vehicles — notably the petroleum voiturettes, tricycles and first automobiles — played a foundational role in the birth of the global automobile industry. The Société des Taxi-Autos de Dion-Bouton SA was created to operate a fleet of motor taxis in Paris using the brand's vehicles. Founded by deeds deposited with Notary Fontana in Paris on 25 February 1908, the company has a capital of 2,000,000 Francs divided into 20,000 shares of 100 Francs. In addition to the shares, the company issued 15,000 Bearer Founder's Shares, including N°7,715, conferring on their holders a 33⅓% participation in net profits, after coverage of statutory charges and the priority dividend of 5% on shares. These founder's shares, issued without face value but with profit rights, are characteristic of the financial structure of Belle Époque operating companies. The document bears two director signatures and the company's red stamp, along with the revenue stamp "Action 2/1e en sus 5 pour 100 Seine". The association of the De Dion-Bouton name with the nascent Parisian taxi sector makes this a historical document of urban mobility in the early 20th century.
