Société Anonyme des Automobiles L. Rosengart
Share "B" of 100F - Paris 1929
Signed by L. Rosengart
Share "B" of 100 francs to bearer issued in Paris in 1929.
Signed by L. Rosengart, founder.
Company created in 1905 by Lucien Rosengart, first specialized in small mechanics and lighting for cycles, motor boats and automobiles.
Rosengart is the inventor of the babyfoot!
In 1914, he developed a rocket launcher that, commissioned by the state, allowed him to build large factories in Paris and Saint-Brieuc.
It partners with Citroën and its factories will release up to 100,000 rockets a day.
In 1927, he starts with the engineer Jules Salomon in the automobile industry.
He buys the license of the English Austin Seven of 1923 (in the same way, in Germany BMW produced under license the BMWDixi). He presents in 1928 his first model, the LR2, which is the copy.
By a skilful promotion, the LR2, which could be described as a cart, was as successful as its English sister several years before.
From 1931, under the name of LR4, modifications differentiated it from the English and its robustness was demonstrated during several long distance raids. This model will last until the 1950s.
Head office 24 avenue des Champs Elysées Paris.
