G.H. Mumm & Cie is a champagne house founded in Reims on March 1, 1827. The name Mumm dates back to 1761: Peter Arnold Mumm, then a banker, launched into the wine trade in Cologne. The sons joined forces with Hauser to create a brand that would become the official supplier of monarchies.
In 1852, Georges Hermann Mumm, grandson of Peter Arnold, became the boss of the Champagne house which took his name. In November 1876, he registered the name “Cordon Rouge”.
It is part of the Pernod-Ricard group, within its subsidiary Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, after having belonged to the Seagram alcohol group.
