Located at 16, boulevard Saint-Martin in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the famous Porte Saint-Martin theater was inaugurated in 1781 to initially house the Royal Academy of Music, whose hall in the Palais-Royal had just been burnt down.

From 1907 to 1922, the theater was directed by Henry Hertz and Jean Coquelin.

We read as signatures on the title Chevalier and Vauvenargues (?).
