The Lincrusta-Walton company was founded in 1880 by Joseph Musnier who bought the patents filed by Mr. Walton in 1877 and 1889 for the manufacture of linoleum.

The company manufactured floor coverings and wall hangings. The company was headed by Henri d'Eichthal.

In 1914, Lincrusta-Walton merged with the company "Loreïd" under the name "Société Anonyme Lincrusta-Walton Française et Loreïd Réunis", whose activity will stop in 1960.
