The Saint-Etienne company operated the Los Reyes gold mines in Valderrueda.

The company in French form disappears in 1902. It is reconstituted under Spanish statute under the name of Minas de Vieja Castilla y Jaén, which is devoted to the exploitation of the lead mine of La Carolina.

La Vieille-Castille is today part of the autonomous community of Castille and Leon.
