The Compañía Española de Gas, S.A. (CEGAS), a public limited company with a share capital of 153,675,000 pesetas, was one of the leading gas distribution companies in Spain, based in Barcelona (Córcega 373). Established on 30 December 1925 by the merger of the Compañía Española de Electricidad y Gas Lebón and the Compañía Española de Gas. On 5 July 1964 it changed its name following a merger with the Compañía Española de Gas, S.A. after absorbing several companies in the Spanish energy sector.
This Bearer Bond "1972 Issue" of 1,000 pesetas, part of an issue of 75,000 mortgage bonds for a total of 75,000,000 pesetas, is numbered 0.053.589 and dated 2 August 1972 in Barcelona. Printed in red within a geometric border typical of the 1970s, central vignette "1,000 pesetas". Original signatures of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Impeccable condition, landscape format. A document representative of the end of the Franco era and Spanish industrial modernization, of interest to enthusiasts of Iberian scripophily in the energy sector.
