Ssudowagon Action Russe 500 Roubles 1910
Share 500 roubles, Russian Company Ssudowagon (wagon leasing), Saint Petersburg 1910, trilingual Russian-German-French, blue Art Nouveau.
Share of the Russian Joint-Stock Company Ssudowagon (Ссудовагонъ), established in Imperial Russia for the development and operation of railway transport means — more specifically the leasing and maintenance of freight wagons. A trilingual Russian-German-French document characteristic of the great cosmopolitan issues of the Tsarist Empire on the eve of the First World War. A bearer share of 500 roubles of the first series, no. 0610, part of a capital of 3 million roubles divided into 3 series of 1 million roubles each (each series in 2000 shares). Dated Saint Petersburg 1910, based on the law of 23 October 1907 and the supplement of 14 February 1908. The blue Art Nouveau design features a majestic central cartouche flanked by the mentions "AKTIE" and "ACTION" in the side margins, and three handwritten signatures of members of the Administration. A witness to pre-revolutionary Russian industrial dynamism, these certificates became worthless after 1917 — which adds to their historical scripophily value. A choice piece for an imperial Russian or international railway collection.
