Company founded in 1877 by Paul Argand, store manager, under the name Gaillard et Cie then Paul Argand-Baraduc et Cie.

The stores were located at 97, 99 and 101 rue Amsterdam and rue Saint Pétersbourg.

They were specialized in oriental imports, Argand being a great traveler who brought back oriental rugs in particular. The store communicated under the name of La Maison des Tapis (House of carpets). This explains the illustration of the bond (camels).

When Argand died prematurely in 1896, the latter was replaced by Mr. Raymond.

Large size document (21x40 cm excluding coupons) with 37 coupons on the right.
