An ancestor of the RATP which runs the Parisian subway (with the Compagnie du Chemin de Fer Métropolitain), in 1921 the company absorbed the Compagnie Générale des Omnibus de Paris, founded in 1855 by Aristide Moreau-Chaslon, holder of a concession from the city of Paris to organize the public transport in the capital.
