This one-fifth share of 500 francs No. 513.293 of the Société Anonyme des Bains de Mer et du Cercle des Étrangers à Monaco (SBM), issued in Monaco on 1 February 1929 and cancelled in 1937, is the flagship piece of this new collection. The SBM, concessionaire since 1863 of the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Monaco's grand hotels, is one of the most legendary institutions of the Principality. Its capital of 52 million francs, divided into 104,000 shares, could be subdivided into fifths of a share. The illustration on this certificate is masterful: a colorful composition depicting two women in classical attire on a lush terrace with a panoramic view of the port of Monaco and the Rock, signed by the artist A. Naher and printed by Aie Française Edcrevet. This illustration is one of the finest in all of Monégasque and French scripophily. Government commissioner of Monaco (red stamp).
