Vignette of a ship.

The shipbuilding company Chantiers Dubigeon was founded in 1760 by Julien Dubigeon in Chantenay, on the right bank of Nantes. The shipyards notably built the Rosière d’Artois, inaugurated by the Count of Artois, the future Charles X. Five generations of Dubigeon sons successively managed the company, the last being Adolphe, who died in 1910. The company was then taken over by the Société des Ateliers et Chantiers de la Loire. The shipyards closed in 1987.
