Bond to bearer of 500 francs issued in Paris in 1857.

In 1852, the brothers Isaac and Émile Pereire set up the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi et du Canal lateral à la Garonne, the new concessionaire of the line from Bordeaux to This (company liquidated in 1947) and future Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Midi. The project was to join the Atlantic from Bordeaux to the Mediterranean at Sète. They then added the Bordeaux-Bayonne and Narbonne-Perpignan lines. In 1884, it bought the assets of the Compagnie du chemin de Fer de Perpignan in Prades.

Beautiful design by Henri Catenacci.
