Le Vide (Action 100 F)
Bearer share 100 F, SA Le Vide, Paris 1908. Vacuum cleaning and industrial applications. Antique decorative certificate.
The Société Anonyme Française pour le Nettoyage "Le Vide" et toutes Applications Industrielles du Vide, with a share capital of 250,000 francs divided into 2,500 shares of 100 francs each, was a pioneering company in the industrial exploitation of pneumatic vacuum. Head office in Paris, articles of association filed with Maître Bochelin, notary in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre. The date of 1908 corresponds to the early days of the mass-market spread of the vacuum cleaner, which the company marketed in various forms.
This fully paid-up Bearer Share of 100 Francs bears number 01 463, dated 6 January 1908 in Paris. An orange/salmon color variant (instead of the blue of the founder's share), with the same highly worked Belle Époque floral border, central vignette and stylized title. "Le Vide" watermark visible when held to the light. Original signatures of Jacques May and another director. Printed by Imprimerie du Globe in Paris. Fine condition. A nice complement to the blue founder's share, forming a lovely decorative pair linked to early-20th-century technological innovation.
