The company was created in 1909 by Léopold Viguerie (signature on the title), a merchant in Toulouse, to operate a factory for the manufacture of white soap cooked on lye, known as Marseille soap.
It supplied important houses such as the Samaritaine, the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, the department stores of Printemps. Viguerie with its quality products won numerous prizes in Paris, Toulouse, Agen, Limoges during exhibitions.
In 1913, the soap industry was operated in France by 360 factories located in the northern region and especially in the Marseille region where it was particularly flourishing. These factories then produce 300 million kilos per year!
The company's factory therefore had to serve the Center, West and South West regions where no factory existed before. Soap was no longer made only from olive oil, but from various oils (palm, peanut, copra), these could pass through the port of Bordeaux and This, without being dependent on the port. from Marseille.
