The company founded in 1863 was quickly bankrupted in 1866. The line decided by the municipal council of Bordeaux in 1852 was to link Bordeaux to Lyon via Aurillac. The concession was sold to the Compagnie du P.O. and the work on the line was completed in 1975. extension to Le Buisson was effective in 1879.
