Compagnie des Eaux de Nimes
9097
Bond of 100F - Paris 1869
The limited company was founded in 1869 by Aristide Dumont. An engineer, Mr. Prunier, promised to find the necessary volume of water in Nîmes by digging a well in the plain which then surrounded the city. Prunier dug a 25-meter well and installed equipment there to extract the water. But this is not enough to meet the needs of the city. A water supply project from the Rhône was then proposed by Dumont to the city.
